Well that’s what my Irish mother always told me so here goes…
Seriously- I could talk painting, decorating and repurposing all day long!
I love it and finally retired after 35 years in the same industry and took the plunge into the exciting waters of change! I Decided to take my passion to Repaint, Repurpose, Redecorate and start a business of my own that I opened this past month in Brooklyn, Salvaged Decor. How perfect that it would so happen to be in an area of Michigan also known as the Irish Hills!
Now my maternal grandfather, Patrick Gannon, was born in Ireland on St Patrick’s Day and like many Irishmen before him he came to this country with nothing , made it his own and was very successful! The passion, drive, determination, and faith have been passed along through that gift of gab that the Irish do so well and I intend to keep talking and sharing my work and tips for successful repurposing with all of you!
At Salvaged Decor we specialize in customizing furniture and vintage finds into unique, one of a kind pieces that bring fresh new life to your spaces! We offer new and vintage decor, painted and repurposed furniture, a full line of American Paint Company all natural clay/chalk/mineral base paints, furniture painting classes, and a variety of pieces offered by several local artists.
In honor of St Patricks day, downtown Brooklyn businesses will be hosting a Ladies Night Out on Monday March 17th from 5-8pm! All participating businesses will be offering special sales, drinks, snacks, and drawings for prizes! Salvaged Decor will be open for this event so get together with your friends and come out to support your local businesses!
